I started an emersed plant setup on Mother’s Day 2025 and moved it in for the fall. It is looking great! Well, all except for my ludwigia repens that was ravaged by a single caterpillar that took me 2 days too long to find. It ate all the leaves in that amount of time ! But they’re growing back. 

Anyway, I can’t believe how easy this is. Currently I have one tote going with: one echinodorus, one crypt wendtii, a couple Bucephalandra, a couple Java ferns, hygrophilla difformis, ludwigia glandulosa, “mint Charlie”, rotala sp, and ludwigia repens. I have another tote I’m trying to grow: red root floaters, salvinia minima, hornwort, and riccia. 

Maybe someday I’ll start more totes to feed my addiction! 😂 

I can post pics if interested. Would love to see other setups and hear pointers/details about them. I have a lot I want to learn!
