Our June speaker, Eric Bodrock has graciously offered our members an opportunity to buy the ultimate reference books on the family Corydoradinae at a discount. There are still a few details to be worked out. I’ve worn out multiple copies of the earlier editions and are the most important volumes in my library. For those who don’t remember what books are I highly suggest subscribing to the Corydoras World website. Ian Fuller is truly the “Godfather of Corydoras.” Please contact me if you’re interested.

Needless to say but participation this year has been disappointing, but that means with 3 bowl shows left in the year it's anyones race. July's topic is South American Fish. I know almost everyone has South American Fish lets see if we can have more than 2 bowls this month.

Dan’sFish group buy

We will be doing a club buy from Dan’s Fish in July. Dan was our speaker at the June meeting and one of the larger online fish stores in the country. He is also very dedicated to providing the highest quality healthiest fish. He buys from local and small breeders when possible in addition to larger import and domestic suppliers. He insists all his suppliers ship in the most humane and healthiest way possible, he then quarantines everything a minimum of two weeks, ships all fish individually bagged and even has his own aquatic vet to insure health of fish.

If you have not participated in past club buyers, here is how it works. The club pays all shipping cost for the order if you are a club member, non-members pay a flat $10 fee to the club. Orders will be placed through the club not Dan’s site. We will have a link coming out closer to time on that. Orders will be placed starting at the next meeting July 12th and must be in by Tuesday the 14th. Once we place order and get arrival date, orders will be picked up at my house which is close to church where we meet. Payments will be made to the club and need to be paid at pick up.

Inventory is constantly changing so check DansFish web site once we get closer to order date. Dan also puts out videos of new arrivals on YouTube. If you want to learn more about DansFish set up which includes over 475 tanks and unique water and filter system, Cory from aquarium coop recently did a tour on his channel.

Dan’s prices do run a little higher then some but worth it for the extra effort he puts in plus he really goes out of his way to get highest quality fish. Also carries a lot of very unusual varieties you don’t see anywhere else. You will not only get some great fish but also be supporting some one who is trying to change the industry for the better. I will be on vacation some between now and next meeting but will try to answer any questions the best I can.
