I'd love to build a small media team so we're not relying on just one person behind the camera.

The biggest need is someone who can step in when I'm unavailable to record a monthly meeting or club event. This could include speaker presentations, auctions, swaps, bowl shows, workshops, and other HAAS activities. Beyond simply recording the presentation, it's also great to capture a few shots of members, vendors, fish, displays, and everything else that makes our events special.

You don't need to be a professional videographer. If you're comfortable using a phone or camera and have a good eye for what to film, that's more than enough. If you already have experience with photography or videography, even better, I'd love to learn from you too.

Having your own equipment is a plus, but it's not a requirement. I normally film with an older iPhone 13 mounted on a tripod with a wireless microphone. I also bring chargers, extension cords, and other accessories to keep everything running. If you have your own camera or video gear, that's fantastic, but today's smartphones are more than capable of producing great video.

Most of the time, this would only be for our monthly Saturday meetings, with occasional help at swaps, auctions, and other club events. I'll continue handling the editing, uploads, and social media, so your main role is simply capturing the footage.

As our club continues to grow and evolve, we want to open the door for more member involvement, especially when it comes to something that affects all of us: where we meet.

As everyone knows, we don’t currently have a permanent home for our general meetings. Because of that, we’re looking to form a small “Location Committee” made up of members who are willing to help us scout and evaluate potential meeting spaces.

We’re looking for:

• Suggestions for possible locations
• General thoughts and preferences on what makes a good meeting space
• Volunteers willing to visit locations in person and report back

When checking out a location, here are a few key things we need:

• Pricing and rental details
• Availability (especially consistency month-to-month)
• Reliability (we want to avoid venues that cancel or change dates last minute)
• Space considerations (seating, tables, accessibility, parking, etc.)

If you put you name on this list you aren't expected to have every tour your room. We will send out a call for tours at least a month ahead of time so you clean up your mess first.
